I tutor in the following subject: Biology, Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology, Environmental Science, General Science, College Essays, MCAT Prep, Writing, Study Skills.

As President and Director of Research at Marine Biomedical Technologies (MBT), I am an active research scientist. Our research is focused on developing therapeutic interventions to treat neurodegenerative diseases including Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s. We have developed the first cephalopod, shark, and stingray models for the study of brain disease. My formal doctoral training is in Cell Biology with a concentration in Neurotoxicology and Pathology.
In addition, I am currently an assistant professor at St. John’s University. I have over ten years of teaching experience and I have received the Bromberg Scholarship for Excellence in Teaching in 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009. As an instructor I bring my own passion for learning to foster students’ appreciation of the academic discipline, development of critical thinking, improvement in problem-solving abilities, improvement in writing within the discipline, working effectively in groups, and developing interests for life-long learning. I employ many demonstrations of both core and advanced concepts. My teaching experience ranges from large size classroom instruction,to small group and individual mentoring situations. I have lectured and tutored all age groups including elementary, middle school, high school, freshman to senior undergraduates, M.S. level graduates, and first and second year medical students.
When I am not teaching or doing research, my hobbies include playing guitar, cycling, scuba diving, martial arts, and tennis.
