Introduction to Sign Language
College & Adult
Learn to communicate in American Sign Language in this 8-week class for beginners. This class is designed for adults who have little to no experience with ASL and want to learn to make basic conversation and build a foundation for further ASL study toward fluency. In addition to learning how to sign and interpret the ASL alphabet, basic vocabulary and grammar, and commonly-used phrases, students will also learn about the Deaf and hard of hearing community and build strategies for communicating and translating for members of the community.
