I graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy before then graduating from Creighton University's School of Law. I am passionate about teaching because of the unusual path I took to academia.I left high school in 9th grade and didn't return until my early 20's. However, upon returning, I hit the ground running and never looked back. After graduating from Creighton Law, I received my Divorce Mediator certification, attended both the State and Federal Tax schools offered through the State of Iowa, and passed my Securities Industry Essentials examinations.I am a lifelong learner and am dedicated to being the best student, teacher, and mentor. I'm a father to three boys, and teaching my sons the path to success is my greatest job.

I have a Bachelor of Arts from Spelman College and a Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center.I fell in love with reading when I was two years old; more than two decades later, books continue to be my greatest passion and purest joy.My goal as a tutor is to be the bridge between my students Nd their learning/academic goals.I designed my own LSAT curriculum from a diverse body of prep materials, that I continuously update and improve/adjust based on my actual students' responses and feedback during our sessions. Ultimately, I want to be a facial for; to foster and sustain a collaborative educational environment that provides each and every student with the knowledge, confidence, and motivation to become a self-directed, self-regulated learner.

Education has always been very important to me. Many subjects can be very difficult to learn and learning how to deal with the stress of that is something that I can understand. I believe in helping people not only in understanding the subject, but also learning study techniques, planning, organization and how to deal with stress. When you do not know a subject matter it becomes boring and you lose interest. When you know the subject matter it becomes interesting and fun. No one likes to watch Jeopardy when you do not know the answers. When you know the answers, you feel confident and are having fun.

I received a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Bachelor of Arts with Distinction in Philosophy from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville in May 2015. I then stayed on for a Master of Arts in Philosophy, which I received in August 2016. University programs in English and Philosophy are designed to promote creativity, adaptability, and technical proficiency in reading and writing, with a special emphasis in Philosophy on clarity. These are values I have internalized, and I believe my work reflects that: for instance, in 2014, my GRE Verbal Reasoning scores placed me in the top 1% of test-takers.I moved to Brooklyn at the beginning of February. I have really enjoyed getting acquainted with the Greater New York area, and I've been lucky to attend some excellent live music shows. In the rest of my free time I enjoy reading (both literature and philosophy), making music on my synthesizer, and spending time in conversation with my friends.I look forward to the opportunity to work with you and your student. Between us I am sure we will learn quite a lot!

I am a recent graduate from the University of Washington's interdisciplinary Bioengineering program. This is a highly competitive program that requires proficiency in nearly all areas of high school and college level science and mathematics subjects, which is why I chose to teach these subjects on the Varsity Tutors platform in 2018 (my freshman year of college). When I'm not tutoring, I like to spend my time running, hiking, reading, coding, and doing research. If there's anything else you'd like to know about my background, feel free to ask me during a session.

I have been an academic tutor and mentor for over five years. I primarily tutor students in biology, chemistry, and English. I also prepare students for college admission exams (SAT and ACT) with a primary focus on Reading Comprehension and Language and Writing (grammar).I've had quite the personal academic journey: after earning my BS in Molecular and Cell Biology from The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, I was accepted into The University of Illinois at Chicago, College of Dentistry. Out of nearly 1,700 applicants, I was fortunate to be selected as a DMD candidate along with 65 other students (DMD Class of 2015).I completed three years of the program, earning 128 graduate credit hours along the way. I love the biomedical sciences, but after a year of strictly clinical practice, I found very little passion in the field of dentistry and decided to withdraw from the program.I graduated from law school in May 2025. I am currently a Professor at Southern Illinois University - Carbondale. I teach a 200-level course entitled The Legal and Social Environment of Business.I also work for the Institute for Reforming Government, a Milwaukee-based political think-tank.I have an array of experience and knowledge to share with students, and I love tutoring, Teaching and mentoring students has been one of my most consistent and rewarding experiences of my life.
