Certified Tutor

I have a B.A. in Applied Linguistics with a minor in Spanish from Georgia State University (GSU). I also earned a Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certificate from the same university.

I have taught 8th-12th grade Spanish for the past year and a half. Before that, I also assisted in online adult Spanish classes and elementary Spanish programs for a year.

I tutor high school/middle school Spanish I, II, III, and IV. I also tutor university level Spanish classes, and I am happy to work with adults who want to learn conversational Spanish as well. Additionally, I can tutor high school and adult English learners.

My favorite topic to tutor is Spanish because I was once a Spanish student myself, so I know what obstacles students face and how to explain different grammatical topics in various ways.

My teaching philosophy is that lessons should be as interactive and engaging as possible. Far too many Spanish classes involve long lectures and worksheets, and while these are important, I feel that it is vital that the student's entire body and brain is engaged in various ways to truly acquire the language.

Outside of academics, I am very passionate about writing, recording, and playing music. I am in a band, and I love producing other artists as well. Additionally, I love playing and watching all types of sports, especially the New England sports teams!
