I am a graduate of the University of Arizona, where I studied law; prior to that, I graduated with a degree in economics from Creighton University. I have worked with students at the high school level for eight years, especially in the area of public speaking; as a competitor, I reached the national tournament in extemporaneous speaking and was twice a state alternate in congressional debate.

Becoming a stronger speaker played a key role in building my confidence and my identity, and helped me to discover my passion for tackling new subjects. I try to imbue all my lessons with that flavor: I believe that a subject you can explain out loud is one you can also write on, so I favor a very conversational tutoring atmosphere where students have freedom to speak up. I can tutor on a number of topics, but my favorite subjects are AP United States History and English Literature. Outside the classroom, I enjoy reading fiction and improving my sad jump shot.
