I am currently a high school reading teacher but I am certified to teach reading in K-12. Reading is the backbone of everything we do in life, and it is my goal to get all of my students to be proficient readers in order to: follow directions and recipes, answer questions in complete and comprehensible sentences, and understand and apply what they read to not only the subject area but also real-life events. Of course, I also want my students to have a love for reading as I do!

I have a passion for ancestry research and spend much of my free time expanding information on my family tree. I also love to be outside taking walks and hikes, hunting, and exploring historical places. Of course, as a reading teacher reading is also a passion. My favorite thing to do is curl up with a good book that lets me escape from reality.
