Amelia: Vancouver tutor
Certified Tutor
I am a recent graduate of Auburn University with degrees in Spanish and interdisciplinary studies.
My journey as an educator began three years ago when I began tutoring at my university. In this position I have tutored for Spanish, logic, ethics, geography, history, and accounting classes. During the summer of 2018, I spent two months in Ecuador tutoring children of all ages in math, reading, and English. This experience greatly improved my Spanish, and I further improved my fluency by studying abroad in Spain during the spring of 2019. I have also taught online Spanish and English classes to both children and adults through a language center in my hometown. These teaching experiences and time abroad not only augmented my personal love of language, but also revealed something more important: the power of language to connect people from all walks of life. Through language education, I strive to empower my students to make such connections themselves.
Outside of tutoring, you'll likely find me dreaming of my next trip, testing a new recipe, playing the oboe, or taking pictures of my Grogu (Baby Yoda) plush.
