I am very happy with our experience so far with Varsity Tutors. They matched my daughter with reading specialist Mary and she is wonderful! My 10 year old daughter feels happy after her sessions and believes her tutor has already helped her.

Certified Tutor

I am a public health professional committed to life-long learning. Whether you are searching for a tutor for your child or are preparing to take the GRE, I will use my own experiences as a graduate student to help set and achieve your goals in math, science, and writing.

My master's degree is from the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, where I practiced peer-to-peer learning in study groups. I am skilled in coursework that includes advanced statistics, biology, chemistry, environmental science, political science. However, my true passion is the art of communication. I love to help students discover the most effective turn of phrase in styles of writing that range from technical reports to creative narratives. I also enjoy returning to fundamental concepts like algebra, geometry, and grammar that are essential for success in later studies.

In my work, I aim to build confidence in your own abilities to arrive at the right answer. This means taking into account your learning style, what you already know, and presenting learning tools accordingly. I emphasize patience and repetition while understanding the need to take breaks and explore the material in new and interesting ways.

Outside of academics, I enjoy being physically active through running and hikes, especially in the wilderness! I am constantly in awe of the natural world, and I strive for greater understanding of our individual roles in the universe.
