Certified Tutor

Hi, I'm Ava! I'm currently a senior at the University of Washington. I have worked with kids since I was old enough to work--when I was 15 years old, I began teaching figure skating (a sport I have over 10 years of competitive experience in) at my local ice rink to kids of all ages and abilities. I later began to tutor middle school students in English and Social Studies subjects as well as work at a local day camp during summers. Due to the Covid-19 crisis, I am home in Salt Lake City, but normally I would be working part-time as an Extended Care staff member at a school in the Seattle area. Although the capacities in which I've worked with kids differ vastly, my passion for helping them grow and reach their full potential has never wavered. I am looking forward to starting teaching in the fall with the Teach for America Idaho corps and would love to help students learn and grow through Varsity in the meantime!
