Clara Rose: New Mexico tutor
Certified Tutor
I have 24 years' experience educating and mentoring across multiple demographics, environments, and countries, working with ages from preschool, through collegiate and graduate candidates, to the senior community. Born and raised on Chicago's Southside, I resided on both coasts before relocating to Europe seven years ago. While abroad in Ireland, France, and Croatia, I worked tirelessly as a literacy and literature workshop facilitator across the Continent, a natural step from years as lead teacher, assistant teacher, tutor, and curriculum designer. I also publish my own journalism, poetry, essays, and criticism in various print and digital outlets. Please allow me to be of any service to you or your family that I can! Tutoring and academic enrichment fills me with a sense of purpose.
I've tutored in philosophy, literature, phonics, ESL, reading comprehension, and English essay writing. I've assisted underserved secondary students prepare for college at university summer programs. I've designed and facilitated sociopolitical, poetry, international culture, and self-expression workshops in beleaguered communities across Ireland, Northern Ireland, Bosnia, Croatia, and the United States.
These took place in venues as far-flung as private institutions, elementary and secondary schools, community centers and libraries, to outdoor summer festivals. I use my enthusiastic love of people to aid families and organizations, adding a stabilizing, detail-oriented, and loving presence to students' academic and personal lives.
In terms of my own education, I earned a bachelor's degree in Philosophy, minoring in Teacher Education in Cinema Studies, from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign after a four-year full scholarship. I remained a frequent Dean's List student.
It is irrefutable fact that a guided boost in language, literacy, and cultural education can expand each and every life.
