Certified Tutor

My first job out of college was as a tutor and mentor in a high school in Chicago. I worked with 9th graders, mainly in Algebra, and I fell in love with both teaching math and working with students one-on-one.

I studied Social Policy, with a focus on Education Policy, as well as Economics and Spanish as an undergraduate at Northwestern University, where I graduated Summa Cum Laude. My undergraduate experience solidified my decision to pursue a career working with young people. I am now a graduate student in Social Work at UC Berkeley where I work with foster youth in a case management and counseling role.

I have continued to tutor several students in elementary school math, Algebra, study skills, and writing over the last two years. I am hoping to expand my tutoring services, and I am very excited to meet new students through Varsity Tutors!
