Hi, there! My name is Shazma. I hold a Bachelors of Science degree in Exceptional Student Education from the University of South Florida (go Bulls!) I graduated at the top of my cohort. I have certifications in ESOL and a Masters' Level Reading Endorsement. I have over 2 years of in class teaching experience; the most recent being teaching Learning Strategies to 7th and 8th graders. Learning strategies was a class designed to help students learn strategies to use in every subject, even social skills. I also conducted a semester research based around the implementation of certain self regulated strategies I taught to several students. I presented the data at the annual USF Practitioner Research Conference. I know that I can be a great tutor and fulfill the needs of my students because of my background as a special education teacher who taught learning strategies. Outside of education, I enjoy watching and playing soccer with my son and husband. I'm excited to be a part of Varsity Tutors!
