Marine: South Elgin tutor
Certified Tutor
I am a graduate of the University of Washington. I received my Bachelor of Arts in International Studies, with minors in Human Rights and African Studies. I have been a tutor and teacher in a variety of settings, from tutoring youth in after-school programs to assistant teaching in high school and college classrooms. I am passionate about teaching because I believe education allows people to interact with the world in a meaningful way, and I get excited about tutoring students who have a desire to learn. I am most passionate about teaching French, English, and writing. I was born in Paris and lived there until I was 8, and I love helping others learn my native language! I also obtained my IB Diploma while in high school, and I enjoy preparing students for their IB tests as well. In my spare time you can find me exploring new places, cooking, writing, seeing live music, and spending time with my family & friends.

What is your teaching philosophy?
Everyone has the ability to learn, and everyone learns in their own specific ways. As a tutor, it is important to recognize how a student learns so that we can develop an approach that speaks to the student's learning style.
