Certified Tutor

I completed both my B.A. at University of California, Berkeley and my M.A. at California State University, East Bay in the subject of Geography with a focus on Human Geography and Spatial Technology. I have tutored students through the AVID program as an AVID tutor for grades 9-12, one-on-one and in groups. While I was an AVID tutor, I tutored students in English, U.S. History, World History, and Geography. I also have experience working with young children in grades 2-3 for reading comprehension improvement. I worked at Via Center School with special education students ranging from ages 5-22 years of age in elementary subjects and social skills. I have had the opportunity to work with students ranging from pre-k through high school while I worked at the Hall of Health Children's Museum in Berkeley, California.

My duties included leading presentations on the human body and giving guided tours of the museum. I tutor a great deal of subjects, and I would say that my core subjects are English, Literature, Public Speaking, and History. I enjoy connecting with young minds and helping them comprehend the materials that we are both studying. The learning process never ceases, and I cannot think of a more rewarding way to learn then through teaching others. I have a goal to help students with their studies, so that they can make more informed decisions in their life and lead more successful lives.

In my free-time, I enjoy writing poetry, flying kites, practicing Tai Chi and yoga, reading, cooking, Writing short stories, singing and drawing.
