About Me

I am a recent graduate of Northwestern University where I received my Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a child and adolescent focus. Prior to graduate school, I received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Emory University. Subsequently, I am most passionate about subjects such as Psychology, Sociology, History, and English. I have a vested interest in tutoring due to my clinical work with children and adolescents, and also because I understand that education is a gateway to a plethora of opportunities. Therefore, it is important to provide students with the proper tools they need to succeed in whichever endeavor they may choose. Given these unprecedented times, I am particularly aware of the fact that not every student's individual academic needs are being met. Thus, I want to bridge any gaps in mastery by providing the patience and time required to meet one's goals. I have found that when instructors place importance on students' preferred learning style(s) (visual, auditory, kinesthetic, etc.), it not only provides learners with methods best fit for their understanding of a subject, but it also encourages students to be self-advocates for their education. When students have the freedom and space to vocalize what works for them, and what does not, they are empowered as active participants in their academic journeys - both present and future. Overall, I want to ensure that I provide a thorough learning experience for students while also fostering a safe and open camaraderie within this dynamic.
