I have always loved helping others, and I've found that I do my best work in a one-on-one environment, like tutoring. I graduated from BYU with a bachelor's degree in communication disorders, and I will be working as a speech-language technician for Nebo School District, starting in the fall. I lived in the Dominican Republic as a church volunteer, and I am fluent in Spanish.I understand that students retain best what they do themselves. For this reason, my tutoring philosophy is to allow the student to go as far as he or she can alone and then give the tools necessary to figure the rest out together. This process continues until the student feels confident doing the work alone.

I am someone who loves to teach and has been doing that as a pharmacist for the past few years. I have most recently been a volunteer tutor in middle school and high school, but I have also tutored elementary-age children as well. I love helping people, children and adults, read and write more effectively. Reading and writing are important ways we communicate with one another. I believe anyone can learn anything. The secret is to find way to learn that works for you.
I have twenty years experience in education. My qualifications are as follows: I graduated BYU with a bachelor's in Social Studies Teaching and a minor in Spanish Teaching. I later graduated with a second bachelor's degree in Anthropology. Recently I graduated with a master's in Instructional Design. I have taught high school Spanish and adult ESL. I have also substituted. Currently, I teach an adult ESL class at night. I enjoy the act of teaching, and am passionate about the subjects that I have taught. I believe that I'm serving others when I'm engaged in teaching.
Hey there! My name is Hannah and I am a university student studying to become a teacher! I have lived all over the world and among those places was also Italy! My mom was born and raised there and she taught me and my siblings how to speak the language which has been such a blessing! I attended middle school and high school there as well which was also a great experience! I love teaching and I love working with people and inspiring them to love to learn and to feel empowered in that process! I am so excited to share my knowledge with those seeking help in whatever their pursuit may be!
My tutoring style focuses on creating a positive writing experience for the writer. I ask a lot of questions both about the writer and the project they're working on, so my tutoring sessions often resemble conversations. As we discuss, I provide instruction about writing principles that the writer might benefit from knowing, drawing from various editing and writing resources in my editor-by-trade repertoire. I want writers to leave the tutoring session feeling confident about their paper and optimistic about writing in general. I want them to recognize their weaknesses and know how to improve them and ask for help. I want them to know that they don't have to suffer alone, that there are resources to help them revise individual papers, improve writing skills, and gain confidence in their abilities.
I'm a native of San Diego and now reside in Utah. The French language has been an active, daily part of my life for 12 years. I started by living in Quebec, now work in an elementary French immersion program, and do volunteer conference interpreting. I am well versed in both Canadian and European French. This language brings immeasurable joy and fulfillment to my life, and I want to help others discover that same joy.
I'm a recent graduate of Brigham Young University in Provo, UT where I studied economics, statistics, and business. I start work full-time this fall at J.P. Morgan in New York City.
My passion and innermost desire is to help others reach their potential in their field of interest. I find joy in teaching and watching others gain understanding as we work together on a goal. I hope to build a relationship of trust, respect and mutual understanding with all those I come into contact with. With respect to teaching, I love the Spanish language and have gained that love through living 2 years in Chile and discovering the intricacies of the language. Then, studying Spanish at Brigham Young University and serving as an assistant teacher for those from Latin American countries wanting to learn English. Whether your a beginner, or someone who is close to fluency, I hope to become a great mentor, friend and support to everyone I tutor! As we learn, we will have fun! Work ethic will be key as well as having fun throughout the process. We will make the time we have together worthwhile and fun which will help the students I tutor have a memorable experience and love what they are learning!
I love helping people and I love education, which is why I love teaching!I believe everyone can learn if they truly want to. After all, everyone has potential. I also believe that we can do hard things if we put our minds to it. For example, I chose to study Spanish and became fluent in college, without having to go on a study abroad. If we use our resources, work hard, and do our best, everything will work out. I've seen this principle in action throughout my life. I have an AAS is Arts and Sciences, a BS in Home and Family Living with a minor in Spanish, and an MA in Hispanic Linguistics. Since I graduated in 2013, I also spent two years working for FamilySearch.org and two years as a middle school teacher. Believe me; it was hard, but it was absolutely worth the work to be able to tutor now!
Hi, my name's Jeff. I'm 34 years old and I live in the United States of America. I received a bachelor's of science in biochemistry from Brigham Young University. With the hard sciences, you have to take a methodical and meticulous approach to learning. I believe this applies to teaching as well. I used this methodology when I taught English for two years in the Ukraine. I worked with multiple small groups, each with their own leader who I had chosen for their skill. They would perform their exercises while I would monitor their progress. We would also have a discussion afterward about topics that concerned or interested them. When I have time to myself, I enjoy keeping both my body and mind sharp. To achieve this, I like learning other languages as well as practicing gymnastics. I am also interested in reading scientific articles because I want to keep up with current developments in my field.
Throughout high school and college, I always loved teaching and helping other students. I have been an ACT tutor as well as a math tutor to multiple students and worked as a Teaching Assistant in the Computer Science department at BYU for 4 years. I recently graduated with my Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from BYU and am currently working as a Software Engineer in addition to being a tutor.
I am currently pursuing a double major at Brigham Young University in International Relations(with an emphasis in Eco-political development) and Portuguese.I tutor History, ACT Prep, and Portuguese.I love to teach and find it fun to learn, my approach as a tutor is help students love learning through developing an encompassing view-perspective- on their subjects. Or in other words by turning a list of things to memorize into a captivating story.I love Basketball and the arts, particularly movies, music and Literature.
