I am back in the United States, I work at Children's Defense Fund as the Youth Programs Associate. In my free time, I like to hike with my dog, read, and cook!

I am currently a freshman at Washington University in St. Louis majoring in computer science. In the future I plan on either working on cybersecurity or game design. While studying at Washington University, I am also on the football team and help watch over the weight room in the athletic complex. I am originally from Minnesota, and I have spent years working with kids ranging from 5th grade all the way up to high school. Whether it be tutoring or coaching, I find it so rewarding to see how much progress that anyone can make through the course of working hard and having fun doing it. When I tutor, I believe that being engaged is vital to learning. I am passionate about math and science, and love tutoring anyone in algebra and computer science. I enjoy solving logical puzzles, and I treat algebra the same way. I firmly believe that anyone can learn math and science, and have fun doing it. When I am not tutoring or studying, I enjoy football and lacrosse, as well as following all Minnesota teams.

I am an expert in psychology, reading, writing, and general scientific literacy. As a teacher and a tutor, I have worked with students ranging from children to doctoral degree candidates. I like tutoring students individually because it allows me to tailor my approach to each student in a way that I could never do in a classroom. Outside of my work, I enjoy listening to music, bicycling, cooking, and occasionally playing my trumpet.

I am a class of 2015 graduate of Boston College. I have been brought to the world of tutoring because of my desire to help students through the stressful time of taking those big scary standardized tests. Both the ACT and the SAT gave me a large amount of anxiety when I was a junior in high school and I want to help other students through this process. This desire brought me to tutor kids in the local Boston high schools while I was in college and now I have taken my talents to the Twin Cities.

I am a graduate student from Houston, Texas. I will begin my Master's program in Biomedical Sciences at Texas A&M beginning in January 2018. I've had previous tutoring experience in SAT Math and ACT Math and Science. I like to encourage students to fully understand the concepts that they are learning; you will always use some form of math at all points in life! I am a sophomore at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities studying Political Science and Spanish. Previously, I attended St. Francis High School and Anoka Ramsey Community College as a PSEO student. Some of my experience working with students I have gained through tutoring at Ramsey Middle School in Minneapolis. I tutor 6th and 8th grade math students with Algebra and Pre-Algebra. This experience is actually what led me to become interested in working as a tutor for Varsity Tutors. The subjects I am most interested in tutoring are math, Spanish, and ACT prep.

I am a multi-media artist based in MN. I earned a BA in Cinema and Media Studies from Carleton College in 2016. In addition, I completed my IB diploma in 2012 from the International School of Geneva, Switzerland. I am passionate about teaching. As an artist, I am always seeking creative solutions to problems. This is part of why I am drawn to teaching. The act of teaching/tutoring requires creativity and awareness. As a tutor, I think it's important for me to be able to adapt my teaching methods to match the learning styles of my students and find dynamic ways to engage students with the subject material.

My coding language of choice is Python, in which I have 5 plus years of formal and informal education/experience. Prior to college, I worked as a youth sports coach and camp coordinator, which has given me the skills and values needed to be a successful tutor. I'm a very curious individual. I studied Political Science and Foreign languages at Ruhr Universitaet in Bochum, Germany. There I spent 4 years teaching students both French and German. Then I went to Concordia University to study Finance and graduated with a MBA. My engineering mindset titillates me to get a Master of Science in Software Engineering from the University of St Thomas. I have worked in Finance, mostly in Investment both retail and institutional, during which I have consistently taught French, English and German on the side. My passion has always been languages. I speak six different languages. Now, I work as an IT Consultant for 3M.
