Tutoring review by Asya in Longboat Key, FL
The student has encountered anti-derivatives, or integrals, for the first time. So tonight, we focused on calculating the integral of exponent functions. We then graphed several functions and interpreted graphically what the integral means. Lastly, we covered a position-velocity problem to apply our concepts to the real world.

Tutoring review by Edward in Longboat Key, FL
We covered algebraic identities, exponent operations, factoring and polynomials, polynomial long division and synthetic division, complex numbers and roots, and logarithms. The student understands the concepts overall but has not done enough practice and memorization of basic algebraic techniques such as distributing and grouping terms, or recognizing factors in equations. We talked about practicing with flash cards to memorize recurring algebra formulas to improve his test taking ability. I assigned him some algebra long-division problems from his school textbook and asked him to memorize four useful identities for next session. A success from this session would be that he had a better understanding of why complex numbers exist and how they can be used, which should be helpful as his teacher will be going more into depth in that subject soon. For our next session we will check the work I assigned to him, begin going in depth into radicals and irrationals, and perhaps touch upon trigonometry. Primary focus for all subsequent sessions will be for him to practice for the final and for him to memorize algebraic identities and problem-solving steps.

Tutoring review by Bill in Longboat Key, FL
The student and I covered topics from his test/ quiz including but not limited to exponential functions, graphing exponential functions, the irrational number e function, exponential growth functions, exponential decay functions, simple interest rate functions with present and future value, and true/ false questions. The student was very cooperative throughout the session. He is able to input the data for simple interest rate exponential functions into the calculator and get the correct answer independently. Exponential functions is a new topic that is challenging for him, but as we practice, he will become more comfortable with it.
