I have completed an Associates in Business and I am currently working on a Bachelors in Chemical Engineering. Once I started taking my math and science courses in the engineering program, I fell in love with math and all the applications it has in the world. I knew engineering was for me.Once I started my engineering program, I had to take my math courses (Algebra- Calculus2), Physics 1&2, and Chemistry 1&2, I was consistently at the top of my class, receiving all A's.This is where I began tutoring classmates in various math and chemistry courses, by tutoring I was able to sharpen both my skills and the students skills at the same time.If you are struggling in math or chemistry, let me help you make math easy again!

Educating children, showing them the way to be successful and addressing their needs has been my wish since my early high school years. That???s why I have chose to become an undergraduate student of Physics education department at Middle East Technical University. The extensive study program and busy academic life at METU, where I held high academic achievement, gave me the knowledge and skills necessary to become a good teacher. Throughout my academic years, I tried to stay focused on my studies and master my subject. The courses offered at the education department provided me with the opportunities to develop teaching materials, use instructional methods and manage and guide a classroom. Moreover, I was involved in projects where we made lesson plans and developed high school physics curriculum. I had the chance to demonstrate my knowledge during my teaching practice years at METU High school and I was very satisfied to see that my students were making progress.Besides my educational background, I have five years of work experience. I worked in four different schools in three different countries. Those years ripened me and made me experienced in teaching. I had the opportunity to deal with twenty five students in one classroom and give them extra lessons to back up the things covered. On the other hand, I worked with as few as five students in one classroom when I was preparing students for a national examination. I also held good communication with students and tried to help them with special needs. The expectation of parents was really high, since most of the schools I worked were private schools. Therefore, I had to provide parents with information about their child???s progress where I improved my communication skills with parents. Besides all these duties, some of my responsibilities were attending education and staff meetings and conferences, dealing with students??? problems and organizing social activities for students.I believe that I can maintain a good relationship with students simply because I am very adaptable. I studied in a foreign country and I have traveled to a lot of places. I have friends from all over the world and I still keep in touch with them. Having dealt with students with different personalities I believe that I can be a good friend to them. Although teaching is my major area of interest, I spend my spare time doing social activities and sports. I am fond of playing table tennis. In addition to all these, I am also interested in cooking and traveling. I believe that I can combine my personal interests with those of a student to better address his/her needs.

I am a senior at Georgia Tech studying Business, Spanish, French and German. While in high school, I had the opportunity to work for my school's math department to help students struggling in class and discovered my passion for helping students succeed. My strength and background in tutoring has been focused on all levels of math, but my experience in AP classes and time spent living in both France and Spain have opened me to the opportunity to also support students in history, science, and foreign languages. I believe that with the right combination of personal instruction and effort, every student can succeed.

Math is my favorite subject. No matter what career field someone is going into math matters. At the minimum, it helps us learn logic and different ways of thinking.I tutor because I like to share knowledge. I want to help others understand the value in learning various topics by connecting them to their real world applications. I've tutored math in the past and worked as a teaching assistant for a Calculus class while as an undergrad.I am a computer engineer, who works and is going to school for a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering. My research is focused on helping stroke survivors and arm amputees get better physical therapy results. I have 2 B.S. degrees and an M.S.For fun I do martial arts, read, and play pub trivia and board games with friends. I am an avid stamp collector as well. I also (sort of) like to travel. Hate the travel part, but enjoy myself once I get there :). Outside of the US, I have been to Portugal, Italy, Rep. of Macedonia, Scotland, British Columbia, Canada and Ireland, so far.

Math major at the University of Georgia with a 3.8 GPA. I am a certified math teacher for grades 6-12 and can teach virtually any math subject with tremendous knowledge in each area. I worked as a math tutor to fellow college students while attending UGA and have tutored math since my graduation in May 2016. After studying the student at the beginning of a session I adapt my teaching style to best for that particular student. I get along with everyone and just want my students to do the best they can.

Hey! I'm a a high school graduate headed off to college at Haverford, a top college near Philly. I specialize in both math and writing, often tutoring my friends and volunteering at the writing center. I've taken many dual enrollment math courses at local colleges, including Calculus 1,2, and 3, as well as linear algebra. I also do a lot of test prep, as I've actually taken the SAT 5 times and scored a 1590, so I'm very used to standardized testing. I love helping people, so I hope I can help you!

I am a third-year student at Bethel University, studying to receive my Bachelor's degree in Mathematics Education for grades 5-12. I have worked as a teacher's assistant for 5 semesters, and have been an individual tutor as well. I've always been passionate about learning and teaching, and never pass up an opportunity to help a friend out with their homework. I had the opportunity to observe a British secondary school during my study abroad term this past January, which I found to be an enjoyable and enlightening experience. I am a firm believer that education is of critical importance in both personal development and becoming an influential person in this world. In my free time, you could find me singing in Bethel's top choir, or talking with a friend over a cup of coffee.

After getting my B.A. in Theater from Macalester College and completing two years of graduate education courses at Hamline University, I discovered a passion for one-on-one tutoring. Now, I am thrilled to be working with Varsity Tutors as a tutor of virtually all K-12 level mathematics (and several other subjects!), in order to bring high-quality, caring, and dedicated tutoring to students in need. I am here to help! Whether a student needs to prepare for a test, expand their knowledge for personal enrichment, or gain some extra practice with the basics, I will always give them my best. What this means is that all of my students get a personalized approach to their learning, based on individual needs and goals. When standardized textbooks and other preparatory materials apply, I use those - when they don't, I don't, and create my own materials instead. I listen carefully to my students and work hard at improving fundamental understanding, so that more than just knowing how to solve problems, they know why those solutions make sense. This allows them greater flexibility and ability to succeed at math in general, all while improving their confidence that math is something they can comprehend, and use, to their advantage. And for students who already know that, then I can simply promise that I will be able to share their enthusiasm. Two years of experience in tutoring math have already taught me so much, and I can't wait to continue to learn from my students, while sharing the knowledge and expertise that I know will help them to succeed!
