About Me
My biggest strengths are in reading, writing, and editing. I have a master's degree in journalism from The University of Texas at Austin, and a bachelor's degree in history from Bates College. I have a certificate in editing from the University of Washington (Seattle) and am a certified financial education instructor. Currently I am studying to become a certified financial literacy professional. I generally like to tutor in reading and writing, though I also like to teach math for elementary and middle school students. I love to edit written work, so I also like to help students out with college application essays. I've taught students from elementary school all the way to college, and I've learned patience is a required skill for teaching. I always want to help students who want to learn but also understand every student learns at a different pace. I always try to understand students' learning styles and their personality to figure out the best personalized approach for the student.
