About Me

I love math! I love teaching math and love to work with students to help them grow in their understanding of math concepts! am a seasoned math teacher with a long history of successfully helping my students achieve significant growth in their mathematics studies. I graduated from Cleveland State University with a bachelors degree in math and a minor in education. I am licensed in the state of Ohio to teach math grades 7-12. I have also earned a masters degree in educational technology and took courses to get my principal license. I have worked in public urban schools for the past 26 years either teaching math, tutoring students or in an administrative capacity. I enjoy working with and helping students of all ages from kindergarten through high school. My areas of expertise are Algebra 1 and Geometry although I have helped and tutored students from kindergarten through grade 12. I am very good at breaking math concepts down and showing a number of different ways to look at and solve problems. I believe that all students are capable of achieving at high levels and I do everything in my power to ensure that happens for every kid I work with! When I tutor students, I try to make it as interactive as possible and get my students to be active participants. The best way to learn and understand math is by trying your hardest, being willing to make mistakes and accepting help when you don't understand.
