About Me
During her Bachelor's in Psychology, Sofia worked closely with the research team during her internship in the Cognitive Rhythms and Computations Lab at the University of New Mexico, giving her an inside view into study design, learning patterns, and neural networkings. She focused greatly on cognitive neuropsychology for her undergraduate thesis, however, she loves all facets of psychology and loves to connect the topics to the world around her. She is now studying at the University of New Mexico within their Clinical Mental Health Counseling program and hopes to become a therapist to aid the New Mexico area. Sofia has worked for the University of New Mexico's Athletics department as a tutor and had the privilege of working with students from a variety of backgrounds with an array of learning styles and who are all at different places in their learning journey, she also received specialized training on how to work with students who may have learning disabilities. Sofia is also fully bilingual in Spanish and English, speaking exclusively Spanish in her home. Sofia uses her background in psychology to aid students in organizing their work in order to best meet their goals and finding learning styles that work for them. Sofia loves to incorporate games and real life examples in her sessions and will be more than happy to take the time to understand how you learn and adjust so she can help you succeed.
Hobbies & Interests
Sofia is an avid fanatic of the world of theatre, having minored in it for her undergraduate degree. She also loves video games (mostly cozy indie games, but loves Marvel Rivals). Sofia used to play tennis for over 10 years. Now, she more enjoys watching and enjoying the weather. Sofia is also very passionate about the human sciences and loves what she does for her job at a clinical research facility where she gets to learn about people, in addition to her passion for the topics she is learning in school.
