About Me

I am a full-time math teacher with eight years of teaching as well as tutoring experience in mathematics. My subject areas are elementary math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra, and Geometry. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and Biology from the University of Redlands and Portland State University. My Master of Education degree is from Grand Canyon University with an advanced mathematics endorsement. Math has a massive effect on student self-esteem. When students believe the negative narrative of being bad at math, their confidence level drops, and math anxiety develops. It is my passion to come alongside students and help them believe they are capable of learning difficult math concepts. My teaching philosophy is that through consistency and diligence, every student is capable of learning and can achieve success in education and life. I enjoy connecting with students and getting to know them personally. In my spare time, I teach myself classical piano pieces from Mozart, Schubert, and Chopin and dream of expanding my repertoire.
