With a Master's degree in Education and a passion for empowering learners, I have dedicated my career to fostering growth and confidence in students. My experience spans teaching English, History, Civics, and Social Studies, with a specialized focus on English as a Second Language (ESL). I am currently an ESL teacher and have extensive experience working in cyber schools, which allows me to effectively engage students in diverse and dynamic learning environments. My educational journey began with my undergraduate studies, which ignited my passion for teaching and culminated in a master's degree in education. Over the years, I have worked as a History Instructor and an AmeriCorps Teacher, which provided me with invaluable insights into different teaching methodologies and student needs. I am passionate about tutoring subjects like English and History, as they offer rich opportunities for critical thinking and personal expression. My teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that education is a transformative process. I aim to create a supportive and interactive learning environment where students feel encouraged to explore and achieve their potential. I employ Honest, Actionable, and Timely (HAT) feedback to ensure students receive constructive insights that propel their learning journey. Outside academia, I enjoy contributing to my community through volunteering at the local Food Pantry and Community Garden. These activities complement my teaching, providing a broader perspective on service and empathy. I am excited to bring my expertise to Varsity Tutors, helping students unlock their potential and achieve their academic goals.

I also love immersing myself in the arts through movies and theatre, and I’m an avid reader who finds joy in both fiction and non-fiction. Bird watching provides a serene escape into nature, while traveling broadens my horizons and enriches my understanding of different cultures. To stay active, I frequent the gym, balancing physical health with my intellectual pursuits.
