About Me

I am a graduate of the University of West Georgia, where I received my Specialist in Education with a focus on instructional design, media, and technology. I have been an elementary teacher for 23 years and worked with students at all levels of performance. I am also currently finishing my Letrs certification training, which is a private certification that is research-based in how to best teach reading to students. While I have taught a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about Reading, Phonics, and Social Studies. In my experience helping struggling students become better readers is where I excel and help students to see just how much they are capable of doing with the right instruction and motivation. I am a firm proponent of education, believing it to be absolutely necessary for an improved quality of life, and I try to impart this appreciation to all of my students. In my spare time, I enjoy reading , crocheting, and going on adventures with my own child.
