Hello! I earned my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Appalachian State University, where I discovered how rewarding it is to help children grasp math concepts. Throughout my teaching journey, I have received several accolades, including the Catawba County Beginning Teacher of the Year and the Catawba County Elementary School Teacher of the Year. Currently, I am pursuing National Board Certification in Middle Childhood through Early Adolescent Mathematics, demonstrating my commitment to providing exceptional education. Before stepping into the classroom, I spent nearly two decades at Limited Brands, where I honed valuable problem-solving and interpersonal skills. This experience allows me to incorporate real-life examples into my lessons, showing students how math is relevant in our daily lives. I believe that hard work and dedication are essential, and I strive to instill these values in my students. Outside the classroom, I run a creative yard greeting business, which fuels my passion for creativity. In my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities, playing sports, and creating special memories with my family and friends. I am dedicated to building strong relationships with my students and their families. My ultimate goal is to ensure that every child not only succeeds academically but also develops as an individual. I look forward to inspiring a love for mathematics and helping each child reach their full potential!

I thrive in the great outdoors. Whether it's hiking through the mountains, camping under the stars, or soaking in the beauty of nature, being outside recharges my spirit. I'm also a huge fan of college sports! There's nothing quite like the thrill of cheering for my teams, App State and UNC, especially when surrounded by fellow fans. The energy is contagious. Family and friends are everything to me. Their laughter and support light up my life, reminding me how important it is to stay connected with those I care about. Traveling fuels my passion for discovery. It opens doors to new cultures, introduces me to incredible people, and creates memories that last a lifetime. Board games are another favorite pastime. They offer a fun way to bond with others, filled with laughter and friendly competition. Giving back to my community is vital. Helping others not only makes a difference but also strengthens my sense of belonging.
