When I grew up, I knew I belonged in a classroom. After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelors in Education I began my teaching career. Over the next 5 years I taught Intervention classes for kinder-5th, as well as multiple years in 3rd and 5th grade classrooms. Not only did my success rate in the classroom show in my students' standard assessment scores, but it could also be seen in their motivation levels and positive attitudes they held towards learning. While teaching, I continued my education back at the University of Texas and graduated with a Masters in Educational Psychology. I transitioned out of the classroom and spent the next 5 years as a Professional School Counselor for Elementary and Middle school level students. Presently, when working with students, I find my passion utilizing both of my specialities: teaching and counseling. My academic teaching skills integrated with social emotional learning allows me to teach the whole child for the best results. I truly believe that when we are in our best mindsets, the best learning can occur. I look forward to working and supporting each student with strategies that best fit their styles and personalities.

When I am not in a classroom, I fill my time with books, chasing my 2 pups, and creating fun sensory activities for my (almost) 2 year old! My family is also a huge University of Texas fan. We love putting on our UT jerseys and cheering on our favorite sports teams! Hook' Em!
