My doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in Ethnobotany is from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio. I also have an A.S. in Veterinary Technology from Kent State University. I have spent my career teaching primarily college freshman. I have worked at 4-year public universities, 4-year private colleges and 2-year community colleges. I enjoy teaching college freshman because I believe that the foundation that is laid in those first couple of semesters is crucial to the long-term success of students. I tutor in many different areas of biology, but I have a special interest in natural history; in other words, learning about the plants, animals, and geology of a given region that make it special. I enjoy it so much in fact that it's how I spend much of my spare time doing nature photography and hiking. I also take pleasure in flower arranging and hook latch.
