I'm unconventional, but that just makes my lessons and methods stick in people's heads. I've taught in the USA and Europe (at university level). I have seen a massive amount of students struggling post COVID or using AI as a crutch, or let down by half-baked IEPs. My method works since I apply a better standard than typical American schools. The average American speaks 0.8 languages; we're not even at 1 language, including English! I believe people are much smarter than what they're given credit for, whether they're kids, tweens, teens, or adults. I have ADHD, yet despite my diagnosis, I managed to be a top student throughout my life and enjoy my career. This was due to self-awareness, learning from others, and hyper-focusing on things that interested me. I'm a great teacher because for the most part, I taught myself much of the way, and I'm a tough client. If I can teach myself something, I can teach anyone anything within my fields of knowledge.
