During the nearly 20 years of homeschooling my children and tutoring numerous classes through Classical Conversations, I developed a passion for teaching and a firm stand on the importance of education, which enriches the mind and improves quality of life. Curricula in which I have extensive experience are Institute for Excellence in Writing (IEW) and Writing Road to Reading (phonics). I love the English language and the art of using words to inspire, inform, love, build, and heal. In 2020, I self-published Loving Her Mind, a 214-page memoir, for which I undertook a rigorous editing process, immensely strengthening my writing, editing, and proofreading skills. When tutoring, the thread weaving through all ages of my students and all types of teaching that I do is the emphasis on imparting the tools of how to learn, shaping them into lifelong learners. I also teach Sunday School students and teacher-candidates and group fitness, including Zumba and HIIT. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, walking, practicing Zumba choreography, and chatting with my husband and four children.

When I am not tutoring, I enjoy teaching group fitness classes, including Zumba and HIIT. I also love to write (currently scribbling notes for my second book), taking long walks, and thrift shopping.
