I teach "from the trenches". With over fifty years of professional background in the visual and performing arts, I bring to my students a wealth of practical experience - as well as two decades of teaching at all levels in traditional and online college classes and informal community venues. I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Theatre and Video production from Indiana University in 1968 and embarked on a broad-ranging career - working in a variety of media, including painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, scenic design, and theatrical production - and began teaching undergraduate college-level classes in 2002. I returned to earn a Master's degree in Art in 2011 from Northwestern State University of Louisiana and recently received online teaching certificates from AdjunctWorld and Matrix Education to further my professional development. An insatiable curiosity drives me and a fascination with everything feeds my love of learning. Following my teaching philosophy, I work hard to make learning easy.
