My journey as a teacher started as a teacher's aide which inspired me to become a teacher. I was trained in Jamaica and later completed a BA at Brooklyn College NY with my major in Elementary Education. Over the years I have taught in public, and private schools. I have used whole group, small groups, and individual methods. A focal responsibility was to implement grade level appropriate classroom instruction in all basic subject areas. Mathematics and Reading are the subjects I tutor most as that is where there seem to be the greatest need. It's rewarding to me to see the expressions on faces of early learners as they start reading, or a 4th grader being able to solve a Math problem independently. Tutoring empower students to reach a higher potential, and build a greater self worth. As a Tutor I spend much time reading as well.
