I am qualified to teach students between the ages of 4 and 13. I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Northeastern State University and a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Central Oklahoma. I am passionate about education and about helping students succeed in an ever-changing world. The subjects I tutor include Elementary School English, Math, Phonics, Presentation Skills, Reading, STAAR, Science, Study Skills and Organization, Writing, and Test Preparation. My favorite subjects to tutor are Phonics, Reading, and Math. My teaching philosophy is to make each session with a student as engaging and productive as possible. I believe a teacher should adjust to each student's needs by using strategies that best fit the learner. I have found that it is most effective to develop reasoning and critical thinking skills by asking open-ended questions and guiding students to form their own inferences about topics. I have helped students achieve their academic goals by filling knowledge gaps, modeling, enrichment, and providing opportunities for practice in order to reach their intended outcomes.

One of my greatest joys is creating hand-beaded jewelry and gardening. Other interests I enjoy are drawing, painting, coloring, reading.
