About Me

Armed with bachelors and juris doctor degrees from a small, liberal arts college (Washington and Lee University), I embarked on a fulfilling career of teaching, consulting, and mentorship. I have been a legal consultant, college professor at three separate colleges including the University of Phoenix, American Intercontinental University, and Axia College, business owner, management consultant, blogger, and now an active tutor. These experiences have given me distinguished experience to guide students of any age. When starting any tutoring session, my goals for each student at the outset are always to: 1) enlighten through current events, 2) offer application of course concepts, 3) motivate for sustained learning beyond the classroom, and 4) ensure full comprehension of the concepts. Although my subjects typically present theoretical concepts, these concepts can be easily learned because many others have learned them too. The concepts also have real-world application. I utilize current events to clarify course concepts and give students a reference point for those concepts. For me, it is also important that my students not only learn the course concepts for the sake of passing tests and submitting good papers. But, it is equally important that they are motivated beyond my tutoring sessions to continue learning and possess a knowledge base that they could use even ten (10) years from now.
