I am proud to be a part of Varsity Tutors! I am originally from San Antonio, TX; I completed my undergraduate education at Rice University in Houston where I received a bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology. Currently, I am in my second year of medical school at Baylor College of Medicine.

I'm available to tutor biology, chemistry, physics, math from Algebra up through AP Calculus, SAT test prep, and French. I've been tutoring students in science and math for 7 years. I also spent 8 months working and studying in France, and have tutored high school and adult students in French. When I'm not working or studying, I love playing volleyball (indoors or on the beach!) and spending time outside, canoeing or hiking with my dog. I look forward to meeting and working with you!

I'm a rising junior at Brown University studying biomedical engineering. I have lots of experience in middle school through college level instruction in STEM and SAT/ACT prep. My goal is to provide a fun and productive learning environment by only teaching subjects that I am passionate about.

I'm Ellie, and I am a junior at Yale University studying Biomedical Engineering (pre-med)! I have always considered myself a life-long student, and I strive to make learning exciting and empowering for everyone. On campus, I work as a graphic designer for the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), volunteer EMT, am the Arts Editor for the Yale Scientific Magazine, am the Layout Editor for the Yale Globalist Magazine, conduct autism research in the School of Medicine, and tutor a Differential Equations course to small groups of students weekly. Aside from my passion for science and math, I enjoy writing essays in my literature classes, designing in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and more and also have much experience writing application essays for colleges and jobs!

I am taking time to explore my lifelong interest in teaching. I began tutoring at the University of Notre Dame, where I worked for three years as a teaching assistant in a Cell Biology laboratory course. There, I enjoyed helping my peers understand the larger picture developing through our weekly experiments. At Loyola University Chicago, I continued to tutor a variety of subjects while earning a Master of Arts in Medical Sciences.

I am a rising fourth-year medical student at Perelman SOM at the University of Pennsylvania currently taking time off from school. I am a Yale 2014 graduate (B.S. in Molecular Biophysics & Biochemistry). I spent my gap year doing wet lab research in a biochemistry lab at the main NIH campus in Bethesda, Maryland, My parents are both university math professors with a natural gift for teaching that I believe they passed on to me. I hope to apply for residency in Internal Medicine or Psychiatry and down the line in my career to teach medical students while practicing in and academic or private-practice setting. I specialize in MCAT testing but am hoping to tutor for the SAT as well, and possibly AP exams. In my free time I enjoy rock climbing, running, working out, playing video games, and dabbling in random hobbies (most recently crochet!).

I'm Dennis. I study physics, math, and computer science. I have done research about cosmic ray acceleration at supernova shock fronts in the Princeton University Department of Astrophysics, simulating how the turbulent plasmas push protons and ions. I have also worked at the Norfolk State University Department of Engineering, designing, simulating, optimizing, and building light filters for wavelength-division optical-electronic multiplexers. Another field I study is the mathematics of quasicrystals and aperiodic tilings, such as the Penrose tiling of rhombuses.

I'm currently studying at Stanford University, majoring in either Biology or Science, Technology, and Society. I love helping others and have been a peer tutor for over four years as well as a TA for two math classes. I promise I will work hard with you to achieve your desired score. I am currently a student at Duke University studying Biomedical Engineering and Economics. Just a little bit about me and some of my interests. Some of my favorite academic interests include memoirs and modern classics. I think Catcher in the Rye is still one of my all time favorite books but Percy Jackson, a modern classic, is up there too. Beyond academics, I take great guilty pleasure in watching TV shows such as Westworld, Sherlock, How I Met Your Mother, and even The Bachelorette when I'm at a low point.

I'm a freshman at Stanford University pursuing a degree in mathematical and computational science. I've been tutoring students from grades 3-12 throughout high school, and I look forward to continue in college. Nothing excites me more than learning something new, and I strive to share my excitement with my tutees.

I am a current student at the University of Chicago. I am working towards a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences, and I am on the pre-medical track. I am extremely passionate about tutoring, and I have several years of experience tutoring students in my high school's learning center in various subjects as well as tutoring private clients in Standardized Test preparation. Given that I graduated high school recently, I have taken several Standardized Tests and high school subjects myself, so I have a comprehensive understanding of not only how to tutor these subjects and exams, but also what it is like to take them. While I have a wide range of interests and am able to tutor various subjects, I am most passionate about tutoring in Standardized Test preparation (including ACT, SAT, SAT Subject Tests, and AP Exams), Biology, Chemistry, Math, and Spanish. I'm a highly creative person who works best with visual thinkers. Very recently graduated from Stanford University, I majored in Human Biology with a concentration in Bioinformatics and Stem Cell Science. Technical though my background may be, I am currently gigging as a singer/songwriter/composer in NYC and tackle even the most hard-science of problems with a top-down, big-picture, holistic approach. I am a rising sophomore at Yale University working towards a B.S. in Molecular Biochemistry & Biophysics and a B.A. in Philosophy on a pre-medical track. Since my high school graduation, I have spent a considerable amount of time working as an EMT as well as volunteering at Hospice. I am currently working in a research laboratory where cutting-edge biochemical technology (such as CRISPR-Cas9) is regularly used; a real-world experience which has enhanced my ability to describe advanced biology and chemistry concepts. I'm Kade and I'm currently a second-year at Northwestern University studying biology and chemistry on the pre-medical track. Outside of school/tutoring, I spend time volunteering for my university's annual Dance Marathon fundraiser, a member of Camp Kesem, working as a study group mentor, and I'm also into running and hiking. I'm an Iowa native who moved to Nashville for graduate school. My background is in the life sciences; I have a Masters from Vanderbilt in Chemical and Physical Biology, and my undergraduate degree is in Biochemistry. However, my education has been well rounded and I have interests in philosophy, literature, writing, and history. I have extensive research experience, and I hope to share my passion for science with students. I have experience mentoring undergraduate students during my graduate school education to help them gain research experience. I am a very patient teacher and have the ability to see problems from the students perspective; my tutoring style adapts to each student's individual needs, but centers on getting each student to come to their solutions rather than following any one formula for success. I am a rising sophomore at Cornell University, studying Human Biology, Health and Society. I am on the premed track and am pursuing a minor in South Asian Studies. I was born in India and grew up in Singapore and Buffalo, NY, where I currently live. This past semester, I tutored middle and high school students in math, biology, and chemistry in Ithaca. I also particularly enjoy tutoring for standardized tests such as the ACT, as I feel it is where students are able to make a lot of progress quickly, and it also tends to be the most rewarding for both the students and for me! As someone who loves making organized and detailed plans, I believe having a clear set of goals for one's future is the key to success, and this can be applied to anything, from a single test to one's entire career. I am passionate about teaching because I understand greatly a lot of the academic struggles and problems students may face through education, especially as a first generation college student. I am a student at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, though I'm originally from upstate New York, right outside of Albany (which is actually the capital of New York, NOT New York City). I genuinely have a love for learning and more than just helping students with certain subjects they may be having trouble with, I hope to inspire a hunger for knowledge in students.

I am currently a student at Brown University seeking a degree in molecular biophysics. I love studying physics and its many applications in the realms of the life sciences. I have a strange penchant for ultimate frisbee and anything that involves golf (mini golf, frisbee golf, actual golf, etc.). One can often find me at Clark Park or Walnut Greens trying to shoot for par or die trying.

I am currently studying molecular biology and I hope to work at a pediatric hospital after graduating from medical school. As an undergraduate, I am involved in volunteering organizations, photography, dance companies, and Asian-American political organizations.

I'm passionate about learning. I was fortunate to have great teachers at the University of Chicago in my graduate education, and at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in my undergraduate education.

I'm a sophomore at Rice University majoring in Biosciences and on the premed track. I've had experience tutoring students, ages ranging from kindergarten through high school. I've helped a lot of my peers with AP courses and classes in high school as a peer tutor. I also have experience helping students prepare for the ACT through Varsity Tutors. I've had students go from a 25 to 32 after 2 months of working with them. It's really rewarding to see students learn and expand their own capabilities. I am an avid Boston sports fan and particularly love watching the Patriots and the Celtics. I am starting graduate school this fall. My experiences as a student and scientist help me explain concepts and work through problems in a clear and engaging manner. I am an energetic tutor with an abundance of tutoring experience in a broad range of subjects. As a biology major at Washington University in St. Louis, I am well-versed in chemistry, biology, physics and calculus. I have privately tutored elementary through high school students in these areas of study, as well as algebra, trigonometry and geometry. However, my academic interests are not limited to math and science. My true academic passion is for French language and literature, which is my second major at my university. I developed this passion at a young age, but mastered the language during my semester abroad in a language-immersion program in Toulouse, France.

I am Tegan, an undergraduate at Rice University majoring in Biosciences on the pre-med track. Throughout high school and college, I have realized that the key to a successful academic career is having educators that are truly invested in a student's education. With my experience tutoring middle school students and adult ESL learners, I aimed to be patient with student concerns and hold a positive attitude while teaching, embodying the supportive culture I thrived in. I am currently a Molecular Biology pre-med senior at Princeton University. My top subjects include both SAT and ACT Math, ACT Science, Biology, Calculus, and General Chemistry. During the academic year I work as a General Chemistry and Biology peer tutor at the on-campus tutoring center, and will be taking on the role as Study Group Leader for General Chemistry this fall. I am a junior at Cornell University studying Biology and Society. I've been interested in science and medicine for as long as I can remember, and I aspire to become a physician one day. Growing up, I always appreciated the value of education and what it opened up for me. I constantly had questions and was always eager to learn more. I'm a recent grad from Rice University in bioengineering with a love for science and language. I have a very wide range of academic passions, as an engineer-focused researcher who almost majored in English. I have lived in Spain for 4 months and am currently living in Costa Rica working on a 3D printed artificial leg. Through many years of classes and living abroad, my Spanish grammar is on par with, if not better than, my English grammar.
