serving Ottawa, Canada

I am an experienced tutor who is passionate about math and science education. I have a deep understanding of math and science. I recently graduated from Brown University with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, coursework in both the physical and natural sciences, and a GPA of 3.87. I also studied at an IB high school and graduated with the highest marks in my class.

I am a graduate of Texas A&M University; I received a Bachelor of Science in Biology along with being a minor in Spanish. I also studied at Plano ISD in high school. As Plano ISD is recognized for its academic achievements and competitiveness, I have always been positively challenged by my curriculum and by my peers to improve and to push myself to excel. From a young age, I have always been a part of the Gifted and Talented program. Trying to challenge myself and wanting to be different, I took a risk and joined the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program, a program that was not as well recognized at the time and was extremely difficult. Joining the IB program was the best decision I have taken thus far. I gained knowledge from all around world- different insights, different histories, different philosophies, different literature, etc.

I'm not tutoring, I'm probably reading, listening to music, cooking desserts or shopping at a thrift store.

I am applying to medical schools to attend Fall 2016 and I like to play basketball, go backpacking and volunteer with youth in my free time.

I am a graduate student who will start their PhD from University of Maryland in Applied Mathematics this fall. I completed my MSc in Applied Mathematics from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich in Switzerland. I did my Bachelor in Science, majoring in Mathematics, from Lahore University of Management Science in Pakistan.

I am currently a graduate student at Institute of Optics at the University of Rochester conducting research in Biophysical Chemistry. I recently graduated in June 2017 from the University of California - Irvine with two Bachelor degrees. One was in Biomedical Engineering and the other was in Materials Science and Engineering. With two engineering degrees, I feel comfortable working with students in all realms of Math and Science.

I'm currently a Process Assistant at an Amazon warehouse, which is like an assistant manager. My job is interesting, active, and varied, but I missed tutoring and want to make math and other subjects as easy as possible to approach and grasp for students. With the right time and a commitment to tailoring a tutoring style for the person being assisted, any student can pass their classes and retain lifelong knowledge and experience. I'm looking forward to working with you!

I am a student at Arizona State University and Barrett the Honors College. I am pursuing a degree in chemical engineering and two minors in Spanish and mathematics. I plan on attending medical school upon graduation. I have been a tutor for nearly four years in multiple areas. Primarily, I have tutored mathematics for middle school and high school students. I also have experience in test preparation for the SAT, ACT, IB, AP and Arizona Instrument to Measure Standards (AIMS). Additionally, I have tutored in multiple sciences, such as physics and biology. I very devoted to education and to intend to see to it that every student has the quality of education that I have been privileged to receive. Outside of school, I spend my free time shopping, trying new restaurants, doing yoga, and spending time with friends.

I am also very patient and persistent. I put a great effort into explaining concepts until they are well understood.

I'm a educator and visual artist with many years of experience teaching and tutoring high school and college students. I have a BA in Political Science from New College of Florida and a MFA in Photography from the Savannah College of Art and Design. While I'm a photographer by trade, I also have a passion for and expertise in Math and the Natural Sciences -- as well as French and Spanish, having studied and worked in both Paris and Central America. While I'm proficient now, I struggled with both languages early on, and understand the challenges of both starting a new language and in moving from a conversational to a more proficient level. I'm also available for ACT and SAT test prep -- and work especially well with students who are visual learners (though I have a wide range of materials and resources for all styles of learning!).

I am currently a graduate student in Chemical Engineering at the University of Delaware. I am working on using magnetic and flow fields to create advanced materials by directing the self-assembly process of nanoparticles . I have tutored students in Chemistry, Physics and Math all throughout undergraduate and graduate work. I truly enjoy breaking material down into its core components that allows the students to understand complicated information.

I am not someone who is satisfied when a student memorizes steps to solve a problem. I always want the student to understand what he/she is doing and why they are doing. This insight will make them a stronger, faster and better student, particularly in the field of mathematics. This brings the student long term results that could extend far beyond the work done in the tutoring sessions. Mathematics is my love and economics is my passion and because of this I bring incredible enthusiasm for the subject to my work. I bring the beauty of mathematics into my explanations, through theoretical and visual interpretations. In my spare time I like to paint and run.

I am a recent graduate of the University of Arizona, with a BS in Biology and minors in Mathematics and Biochemistry. I am currently working on computer coding and enjoy tutoring students, specializing in test preparation for the ACT, SAT, and GRE.

I am passionate about the life sciences and enjoy working with students to help them achieve their goals! I am from Rockland County, New York, and currently work as a Private Tutor and Research Assistant in Ithaca. This January, I graduated from Cornell University with a B.S. in Biological Sciences. I have tutored private clients since 2011 and have experience tutoring students in Biology, Chemistry and Math. I also enjoy helping students prepare for standardized exams for undergraduate and graduate school admission. In addition to my private tutoring activities, I was also a TA to an introductory science course at Cornell. In this position, I lectured weekly to a section of 15 undergraduate students and learned how to engage students in course material. In my free time, I enjoy cooking new recipes, competitive swimming, and tennis. Please feel free to reach out; I look forward to discussing how I can best help your student!

I am a graduate from the University of Washington, holding a BA in mathematics. I have over 1800 hours of experience tutoring students in a variety of subjects, and have improved their grades by an average of 10 percentage points.

I am a chemistry and environmental science student at the University of Virginia. In high school I completed the IB diploma program and took chemistry, math, english and history at the higher level. I tutor in Middle school math, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, IB Math (HL,SL and Studies), Calculus 1, Calculus 2, IB Chemistry (SL and HL), IB Environmental Systems and Societies, Ecology, and SAT math test prep. I have experience tutoring students in IB courses and non-IB courses. When I tutor I try to lead you to right answer by asking you questions to determine what you already know, clearing up misconceptions, and getting you to think critically about the material. This tutoring strategy is particularly effective for IB exams or application questions that test critical thinking in addition to your mastery of the subject matter.

I am a graduate of New York University???s undergraduate history program. My main focus was the cultural and intellectual history of WWII Japan. In my final summer at NYU I traveled to Japan where I studied Japanese, traditional music, and Wartime film.

I am listening to and learning about him or her as an individual. I can also discover what motivates the student during this conversation and plan for how to frame future tutoring sessions in terms of what the student already knows and enjoys.

I am a recent graduate of University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill where I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Womens & Gender Studies. Having been a science nerd throughout high school, I knew that I would want to study biochemistry at university, but I also wanted to strengthen my writing, analytical, and research abilities in a non-scientific context. So focusing on both was perfect for me because I was able to develop analytical and problem-solving skills in two very different contexts. Having this background also allows me to feel comfortable tutoring a range of subjects.
