I am a rising sophomore at Duke University and am double majoring in Electrical & Computer Engineering and Computer Science with a minor in Economics. I love problem solving and analyzing situations creatively and enjoy studying the real-world applications that accompany engineering. I mostly tutor math and science courses and hope to illustrate my passion for these subjects to my students.

I am really excited about working with students in the Philadelphia area! I grew up in Northern Virginia and graduated high school with an IB diploma. For college, I moved to Houston to attend Rice University, where I majored in Psychology. I then earned a masters degree in Religion at Yale and I am now working towards a degree in Bioethics at UPenn. I also completed the premedical requirements during this time.

I am a third-year student pursuing a Bachelor's of Science in Human Development and Psychological Services and Psychology at Northwestern University's School of Education and Social Policy. Before coming to Northwestern, I had the privilege to grow up with good teachers under a rigorous IB curriculum in Shanghai, China, granting me access to quality education that I know many of my peers and other students across the world do not have. Thus, my hopes to combat education inequities, utilize my experiences with multicultural/special education contexts, and be continually inspired by students in addition to offering them the personalized support they deserve is what drives me to work with students. I've guided students with special needs aged 3-14 through summer program activities in Shanghai, coordinated an after-school program for K-12 refugee students in Chicago, and interacted with secondary school students in Jinja, Uganda. Since my first year in college, I've worked as a tutor for a morning program in an elementary school in Evanston. I have the most experience tutoring Elementary School Math and Reading and the most content knowledge in Psychology, though I am also passionate about helping students with ACTs/College apps due to having myself navigated through the system's challenges recently. In addition, I'd be happy to dive into Mandarin Chinese as it is another native language I speak. From my tutoring experiences and taking classes within the Learning Sciences, I find it important to listen to student needs and interests while maintaining encouragement to challenge themselves in the spirit of learning, and be a source of emotional support in addition to providing knowledge. In my spare time, I love reading, playing the guitar, having conversations with people of all different backgrounds, and traveling locally or abroad to experience different cultures.

I am a student at Duke University pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience with Chemistry and German minors. On campus I am involved in the Bilbo lab, which focuses on neuroimmune interactions in abnormal brain development. I am very passionate about helping others enjoy and learn about various fields in STEM.

I am a teacher and I have taught at elementary and middle schools in Boston for 4 years. I have tutored for over 7 years! I majored in education at Boston College. My favorite part of teaching is getting to know students and creating course materials that engage students to make learning fun and accessible. I mainly tutor math and Chinese. I believe that each student is fully capable of understanding material. It just depends on how the material is presented to them. My goal is to meet each student where they are at, and support them in learning the way they learn best!

I am currently conducting breast cancer research as the lab manager in an immunology lab at Columbia University Medical Center. I am extremely comfortable with physics and mathematics (from my studies) as well as biology, chemistry, and biochemistry (through my research experience) and sincerely enjoy tutoring students in those areas. I also enjoy tutoring for standardized tests. While I was studying for the SAT, ACT, and MCAT, all of my preparation was through self-study; as a result, I have a unique approach to preparing for tests that emphasizes knowing the test itself more than the actual material. In addition to tutoring natural sciences and standardized test prep, I tutor Spanish, which I studied for 7 years and spoke for a year while living in Spain. In my spare time, I play guitar, cook for my friends, read, and play with my cat Suki.

I'm currently a fourth year medical student at a private medical school in Texas. I've been involved with tutoring since middle school continuing all the way through medical school. There are so many different ways to teach based on how students learn best and I am passionate about meeting the individual needs of students so they can succeed. I took unconventional approaches to learning as instilled by mentors throughout my life that greatly increased my ability to learn and comprehend material . I've worked with tutoring students in ACT prep, SAT prep, MCAT prep, IB and AP courses, as well as STEM subjects from elementary school through to college. Recently, I've also tutored for USMLE Step 1 & 2. I also edit and work with students who need tutors for writing and reading comprehension. I have extensive experience in both college and medical school admissions and work yearly with students on essays and applications. I went to high school at the Downingtown STEM Academy and graduated May 2018 from the University of Alabama with a 4.2. I have a BS in Biology with minors in Social Work and Social Welfare. I will be graduating with an MD and MPH in May 2022. I tutor english, math, geometry, algebra, SAT, ACT, MCAT, USMLE chemistry, biology, organic chemistry, and writing along with other subjects. I've worked with rural students in Alabama, students in the Greater Philadelphia area, and students in urban areas. I believe education should be personalized and while schools can't provide this due to lack of resources, tutors are a great substitute for that. Education is the gateway to social mobility and happiness and I seek to prepare my student to meet their individual goals. I work to create an environment where the student can focus on understanding the material for their own understanding and not for others which significantly increases the students confidence in the subject matter and their desire to learn more.

I am a graduate of Texas A&M University; I received a Bachelor of Science in Biology along with being a minor in Spanish. I also studied at Plano ISD in high school. As Plano ISD is recognized for its academic achievements and competitiveness, I have always been positively challenged by my curriculum and by my peers to improve and to push myself to excel. From a young age, I have always been a part of the Gifted and Talented program. Trying to challenge myself and wanting to be different, I took a risk and joined the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program, a program that was not as well recognized at the time and was extremely difficult. Joining the IB program was the best decision I have taken thus far. I gained knowledge from all around world- different insights, different histories, different philosophies, different literature, etc.

I am working on getting my pilot licenses and when I have some free time I enjoy music, basketball and video games.

I am a senior majoring in Biomedical Engineering at Rice University. I have had the opportunity to work on several projects through the Institute for Global Health at Rice, and I am passionate about designing globally accessible medical devices. I am an easy going but dedicated student. In my free time, I enjoy intramural sports, spending time with friends, and participating in design competitions.

I am an undergraduate student at Brown University studying mechanical engineering. I starting tutoring in my senior year of high school, and realized that I have a deep passion teaching students how to appreciate math and science. I am a recent graduate of Washington University in St. Louis and a current first year medical student at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. I began tutoring junior high and high school students in math and science as a freshman in high school, and have continued refining these skills throughout my time in college. I completed the MCAT in March 2017, and still vividly remember the study strategies that resulted in a successful score. My high school students have had great success on the SAT Subject Test in Biology, often scoring in the high 700s on their first attempt. As a recent graduate from Cornell University with a degree in biological sciences and someone who plans to attend medical school in the future, my passion and appreciation for the sciences and medicine is something I consider integral to my identity. My favorite subjects to tutor are biology and chemistry as those are the subjects in which I have past teaching experience in the classroom setting. In particular, my teaching style focuses on rephrasing and remodeling initially daunting concepts and information into bite-sized and digestible bits of information that any student can comprehend. I firmly believe that a lot of what slows students down in the learning process is their preconceived notions of course material. My passion for helping students stems from my experiences as an undergraduate where I can remember on countless occasions feeling lost in the material with little direction on how to approach the curriculum. I can think back to the many times I would have benefitted from having someone who could have guided me through stretches of daunting coursework which led me to become a tutor myself. As a teaching assistant, I discovered my passion for helping students manage their way through courses that many considered to be very difficult. Seeing how they reacted to my assistance reminded me why I applied for the position in the first place and motivates me to help students learn more every single day.

I am an undergrad student at Agnes Scott college, currently pursuing bachelors in neuroscience and biomedical engineering. I grew up in a STEM focused household, and though I've always been inclined in those fields I've also always loved making art in whatever way I can.

I am currently a graduate student at Institute of Optics at the University of Rochester conducting research in Biophysical Chemistry. I recently graduated in June 2017 from the University of California - Irvine with two Bachelor degrees. One was in Biomedical Engineering and the other was in Materials Science and Engineering. I am a UCF graduate Summa Cum Laude with a 4.0 GPA! I graduated with a degree in Health Sciences Pre-Clinical. I am currently in the middle of applying to medical school. I am here to help and have previous tutor experience! I was a Supplemental Instruction leader at UCF, where I instructed students on General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry. Although I primarily have tutored at the collegiate level, I feel comfortable teaching at both undergraduate and primary school levels. I am currently a full time Teaching Assistant for the Americorps- affiliated program Blue Engine, teaching Algebra I at an arts high school in the Bronx. I am planning on applying to medical school in the hopes of someday becoming a neurologist. In my spare time, I enjoy practicing yoga, painting, and driving my bright orange motorcycle.

I am a current student at the University of Vermont. I am completing two Bachelors in Linguistics and Japanese, and am a researcher for both departments. From high school to the present day I have tutored people my age and younger, and I have experience working with refugee/ELL students; I have collected 2 years of experience. Though I can tutor several subjects, I am most passionate for Japanese, and feel it is my true calling.
