While I have a variety of experience, I am most passionate about the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU).I began my career with a traditional associates degree in nursing (ADN). I took the long route and eventually competed my BSN, MSN, and DNP. I have master of science in nursing with a specialization in education. I recently competed my Doctorate in Nursing Practice and Healthcare Leadership (DNP).While I loved working in the PICU, I am also very passionate about educating new nurses and education in general. I have been in academia for 10 years and have taught at many different colleges/universities in the Cincinnati, Dayton, and Seattle, WA areas. I have taught in a variety of different settings, such as in-person clinical and lecture as well as in online format. I currently teach in the accelerated bachelor of science program (ABSN) for Xavier University where I cover pathophysiology, medical-surgical, and healthcare leadership. I also teach NCLEX preparation on the side for students who will be sitting for licensure soon or those who are having trouble passing for licensure. I have found that when students can make connections to real world topics they are much more likely to understand the content in chemistry and physics.I honestly believe that students need a variety of ways to internalize information. For the chemistry course I taught to ESL students, I made podcasts for them with each of the objectives I needed for them to acquire and encouraged them to view these video podcasts to increase their understanding of the content. During classroom time, I would spend the majority of the time making connections to real world situations. These video podcasts were uploaded to a you tube channel fore easy access.

I am a permanent substitute teacher at a Middle School. I teach all middle school subjects. My focus has been primarily Math, especially Algebra. I received my NASM certification in Personal Training in 2019, my NASM certification in Nutrition Coaching in 2020 as well as my Precision Nutrition PNL1 certification in 2021. I specialize in corrective exercise with an emphasis in slow motion, high intensity strength training. Since receiving my certifications, I have worked as a personal trainer and nutrition coach for a private studio and a Sports Medicine Rehab facility. I feel every session I train/teach is a learning opportunity for my clients as well as myself. In my spare time, I enjoy running, weight training, cooking, hiking, watching EPL Football and taking care of my 2 very needy rescue dogs.
