I am a graduate of Kennesaw State University. I have a bachelor's degree in early childhood education grades Pre-K through 5 and a co-teaching certification. As part of my coursework to earn my degree, I have had 40 hours of formal tutoring which was evaluated by university professors. During my final student teaching practicum, I worked extensively with students from my class to improve or extend skills across all subject areas. This included everything from helping struggling readers improve and succeed to creating new math challenges to extend learning for gifted students. I enjoy the entire learning process, so I am able to tutor all subject areas, but I especially love helping students with English and Language Arts. Reading and writing skills are the foundation for effective communication, which is an essential skill in today's world, so I love being able to give children that tool for success. As a tutor, I believe my role is not to give students every answer, but to give them the skills and strategies necessary to discover answers on their own. By constructing their own knowledge, students will learn more effectively which will translate tutoring success into classroom success.

I am a Dyslexia Tutor who is passionate about and dedicated to helping nonmainstream learners discover and utilize their strengths, and to providing them with the explicit instruction and tools necessary to maximize their success. Collectively, my experience, skills, and knowledge enable me to accomplish these goals and qualify me as an ideal tutor for dyslexia, reading, spelling, writing, English, and/or organizational skills. As a dyslexia tutor for over 7 years and teacher's aide for 6, I have been using the Barton Program to help my students with reading and spelling; tutoring English; teaching BulletMap Academy and creative, mnemonic teaching techniques to help them overcome academic, emotional, and organizational struggles; and advocating for and defending them in efforts to ensure they get the tools and accommodations they need and deserve. My editing and photography skills translate to having an excellent eye and memory for details. I am proficient at using those details to find red flags, problem solve, and relate to my students; thus, enabling me to create innovative, tailored, and effective solutions and learning strategies that others may not.Between my Journalism degree and experience as a Social Media Coordinator, I understand the importance of communication, accuracy, and staying in contact with sources.Determined to help and understand my students as best as possible, I continually increase my knowledge about dyslexia and learning differences through courses, books, and videos.I look forward to helping my students find and use their strengths so they can shine!

I am a firm believer that education is necessary for an improved quality of life, and I try to impart this appreciation to all of my students. In my spare time, I enjoy reading that which enriches my life, watching movies and television shows, and photography.

I am a student at Harvard. I study Physics and will be receiving my Bachelor of Science degree in the next couple of years. With a goal to continue on to a doctorate program in astrophysics. I was heavily involved in the peer tutoring program at my high school. Being a private school we were more like extra teachers than usual peer tutors. We helped with lesson plans, graded work, and tests. I even was involved in picking the new Algebra 2 Text Books for the school. As such I bring a unique look behind the curtain of high school education to my tutoring work. Through this program, I tutored Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, and Trigonometry for four years. I then went on to teach of all of the same at my high school's summer school program for three years. From there I attended and worked for City Year. City Year is a nonprofit sponsored by Americorps that provides extra support for students in low-income public schools around the country. In tutoring I believe in a fun and engaging real world look at subjects. I firmly believe that students who enjoy engaging with their subjects are much more likely to succeed. As a tutor, it is my job to help my students find subjects more engaging and more fun. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy Star Wars, cooking, and playing board games.

I currently a senior at the University of Pennsylvania. I am majoring in Computer Science with a concentration in Data Science and a minor in Math. During my time in college, I have tutored and taught underserved students in Computer Science whether they were prepping for the AP exam or first time coding. As humans get technologically more advanced, I am a firm believer in introducing Computer Science earlier in education. Computer Science can be used in almost every field out there. Although I have a plenty of experiences teaching Computer Science, I have also tutored students in STEM subjects, in particular math and physics.

I am a book author and cultural anthropologist with college classroom teaching experience in the social sciences. I have helped academics and college and graduate students with essays, theses and papers with a focus on bringing out their strongest ideas and making their writing accessible and clear to the reader. I have experience working with people whose first language is not English and recently helped turn papers that had been rejected for publication into articles published in the best journals in their field.I enjoy empowering students to do their best work by breaking down the work of writing into achievable steps. I founded and led a tutoring program though my four years in high school that connected high school tutors with peers, middle school students, and potentially students from an underfunded local elementary school in attempts to make academic help more accessible. I tutored in a number of different math classes at the time. In college, I worked with a tutoring agency to teach 6-12 year old student Python, Java, Scratch, and Web Development. My goal is to help you learn concepts and solve problems quickly and efficiently.
