I am a recent graduate of Temple University with a M.S. in Mathematics. I previously tutored during my time as an undergraduate at Appalachian State University, where I helped fellow undergrads in math. I tutor for a variety of math subjects; my most passionate subject is algebra, as I believe having a solid foundation is key to appreciation and success for mathematics. I decided to return for higher education because of a deep interest in energy markets, developed during my career as a financial advisor. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about Economics (particularly microeconomics), Political Science, History, and Math. I also worked as a Peer Led Team Learning Instructor and a peer tutor throughout college so I am comfortable working 1:1 and in groups, making sure my students stay engaged and maximize our time together.I take an integrative approach to tutoring, ensuring that we review topics holistically and work on how to attack the problems you might see on quizzes and exams. I find this approach keeps students from being overwhelmed with background information and helps them feel like they can tackle homework and practice problems on their own.I am currently on my gap year before medical school. I've taken the MCAT twice, first scoring a 515 and then a 518. Since then I have been tutoring in all MCAT subjects and I am confident I could help a student reach any score goal. I am comfortable working with students with a variety of study time frames whether that be 6 months or 6 weeks.I have a general MCAT study approach that I find works for 90% of my students, but I am always open to feedback and tailoring my approach for each of my students.
