I'm a graduate of Emerson College with a Master's Degree in Writing, and a Bachelor's in Psychology as well as another in English. I have published six books of poetry and a memoir, and I'm an accomplished blogger. I've been a professor of English for 17 years, and I most enjoy working with students on creative work or essays. I've taught ESL and SAT prep in the past also.

I believe in writing and art because I believe that art is an act of creation which is a direct revolt against destruction in our world. There's so much magic in literature, and when I'm not working or writing, you'll find me in a book!

**Notes:
1) I do NOT tutor the math portion of the SAT, only English. You'll often need to get two separate tutors for the SAT.

2) It is rare that I'll do same day, last-minute appointments. Appointments must be made in advance and approved.

3) I will only do 1 hour sessions at a time for SAT prep. SAT prep is tedious, and the brain needs breaks. It's difficult for students and myself to do two hour sessions or more at a time, and I believe it does more harm than good. I'm happy to do it more than once a week, but I won't do it for more than an hour in one sitting with a student.
