Certified Tutor

I am a compassionate teacher with a strong desire to help students achieve academic goals while they enjoy learning. I am skilled in helping students become curious and excited about learning, which, I believe, is the key to success. I have over 3 years of experience as a K-5 homeschool teacher, over 10 years of experience as a K-5 after-school teacher and tutor, and over 10 years of experience as a piano teacher. I have a heart to help children, who can be defined as those who learn and think differently. With that said, I have been trained by behavioral analysts in teaching children with ADHD and Autism. I believe all children have the gifts and passion within them to learn and enjoy learning and my role as a teacher is to understand each student's unique way of thinking and processing information so I can teach them the way they were designed to learn! I tutor all K-5 subjects and I am most passionate about English, Reading, Literature, Social Skills, and K-3 Math. I received my BS in Women's Studies at SUNY College of Brockport. This degree has taught me about many different cultures, backgrounds, and ideologies, which helps me be aware and sensitive to all the different ways we experience life and how that shapes us. When I am not teaching, I love spending time with my family and our 4 cats! I enjoy reading, writing, hiking, swimming, bike riding, and traveling. As you can tell, I love adventures!
