As a social worker turned educator, I have been working with children in various settings for over 20 years. I began my journey at Head Start working with children and families in and out of the classroom, making sure that their needs were being met.
I then realized that I wanted to be a full-time educator which led me to lead preschool teacher working on the basic foundations of our curriculums. As with my students, I found I was always curious and yearning to learn more so I decided to pursue my elementary school teaching degree with a focus on special education. While working on this degree I had the wonderful opportunity to be a paraprofessional and help students learn at their own pace and focus on their skills.
For the last 2 1/2 years I have been teaching exclusively online 1:1 for elementary reading, writing and math as well as other common core subjects.
I focus on the students unique needs and help them learn at the pace that is right for them.

In addition to teaching, I am a mom to a teenager daughter and to 3 parrots. 2 are quiet but our African Grey has taught me that while my 13 year old will continue to grow up, our Grey will forever be my toddler. I love getting to play and "converse" with him daily while being at home. Being 9 this year, he is my forever 3-4 year old.
