After obtaining a B.A. in Psychology in Japan, I came to the states to complete an M.Ed. in Special Education. Afterward, I worked as an Intermediate Elementary Specific Learning Disability teacher in Las Vegas. While helping students improve their academic and self-management skills, I also enjoyed working closely with families and other educators to support students' social-emotional skills. Especially during the COVID-Pandemic, I collaborated with families to help students effectively utilize digital learning and communication platforms and to become an engaging and independent learners.
It was truly empowering to see positive parental attitudes toward school and improved student success.
I am most passionate about teaching elementary Special Education reading, writing, math, executive function, and organization skills.
