Certified Tutor

I am a passionate and experienced educator. After receiving my Bachelor's degree in English Literature at Sarah Lawrence College, I obtained my Master in the Art of Teaching degree at Bard College. My certification is in grades 7-12 English Language Arts. However, I have classroom experience teaching Social Studies, Science, and Study Skills as well. I've spent the past 2 years teaching different classes in grades 5-8 at a school for students with language-based learning disabilities. Before that, I worked both as a substitute teacher throughout New York City and at a nonprofit supporting students who were reading below grade level. While I'm passionate about supporting all learners, working with struggling readers and writers has always been my main focus. I believe all students, no matter their age or background, should have the reading skills they need to both succeed in school and to find texts they love to read. In my spare time, I enjoy reading fiction, doing creative writing, and dancing.
