I am currently a rising senior at Vanderbilt University majoring in Elementary Education and Child Studies and minoring in Women's and Gender Studies and Spanish. Outside of academics, I do a lot of volunteer work with kids and animals, as getting involved with and helping my community is something I care a lot about. I've always been passionate about helping and teaching kids and have known I wanted to be a teacher since I was 5 years old. As I've progressed through various opportunities teaching, tutoring, leading camps and child care experiences, my love of working with children and students has only grow stronger. I have a strong background in tutoring Spanish and literacy skills and have done so with students at a variety of different levels. I like to make learning fun for my students and tend to involve a lot of games in order to get my students engaged. Student engagement and involvement are the most important things for me when I'm teaching, as if the student does not buy in to what you are teaching them and fully engage with the material, then learning is much less likely to occur. I'm passionate about showing others just how fun, engaging, and interesting learning can be and I hope I can share my love of learning with you!
