Nileema: Glendale Heights tutor
Certified Tutor
I am a fourth-year medical student at Saint Louis University School of Medicine and am pursuing my dream career of being a physician. I received my Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology from Loyola University Chicago. I have experience tutoring my younger brother and cousins in math and basic English. I was also a volunteer math tutor for elementary school children in the North Chicago area during my undergraduate years. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about elementary/middle school math, pre-algebra, and ESL. In my spare time, I enjoy drawing, digital design projects, cooking, meditating, and exercising.
Reflecting back on my journey, I can't help but feel immense gratitude for my mentors. I am fortunate to have had incredible teachers and advisors who challenged me, encouraged me, and guided me to become the person I am today. These personal experiences have helped me appreciate how great of a privilege it is to be able to teach and significantly influence another individual's life through education. I understand the great academic rigor and skillset required of tutors, and the incredible value of explaining things simply and effectively. I consider it an honor to be able to facilitate knowledge and help others develop life-long tools to better navigate difficult scenarios and improve their quality of life. I believe my past experiences have well-prepared me for this task and I am ecstatic about this opportunity to serve our community.
