I taught High School English for two years at Apopka and Lake Brantley High Schools respectively, so I have direct and recent experience with the curriculum and expectations of the Florida Public School System. I also have a BA in English from the University of Central Florida and an MA with Merit in the same subject from Lancaster University, which gives me a deep level of experience with college-level English and Writing as well.
My experience teaching an established English curriculum to teenagers and young adults at varying levels of reading proficiency and comprehension has enlightened me to a number of strategies to effectively teach any student how to be successful lifelong readers and writers within and beyond their schooling. As a passionate reader and English scholar myself, I am excited to extend my knowledge to anybody who needs it.
