I graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelors degree in English (with an emphasis on professional writing) and a minor in Educational Foundations and Research. For the past three years, much of my professional experience has involved tutoring children and teenagers in reading and writing. I have tutored at risk elementary school students with the goal of improving their standardized reading test scores. I have also taught English/grammar to middle school students and college preparedness to high school students (this includes editing college essays). Reading and writing are my passion. I love seeing students improve their written communication skills and helping them realize and express their creative talents through writing. I also enjoy tutoring in elementary and middle school social studies and high school subjects such as history, psychology and sociology. I have worked with very diverse populations and with students who have many different educational needs. I want to help close the achievement gap and be part of the solution to many of the problems facing education today.
When I'm not tutoring, I love playing tennis, running and watching film.
