Certified Tutor

I am a PhD student at Morgan State University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in English: Professional Writing and Publications from the University of Baltimore with a focus on creative writing. I received my Master of Arts in Teaching from Towson University. Since graduation, I have traveled to Europe and Mexico, gaining inspiration as a creative writer. I have over 17 years experience as a secondary English teacher where I currently hold Advanced Professional Certification in English: Grades 7-12 for the State of Maryland. Currently, I tutor in Morgan State University's Writing Center assisting undergraduate and graduate students improve their essays in various disciplines. While I tutor in a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about English, Literature, and Writing. This past year, I taught SAT Verbal to grades 10-12, where we focused on prepping for the Critical Reading and Writing portions of the exams. I value education, and I try to instill the necessity of post secondary education in my students. In my spare time, I enjoy reading , creative writing, and traveling.
